Outdoor activities

The Cévennes Regional Natural Park is an area where there are many outdoor activities such as mountain biking, cycling and walking. Many points of interest are also nearby such as the Gorges de l'Ardèche, Villefort lake, the Cèze river and the Chassezac river where you can practice water activities: swimming, canoeing, canyoning, sailing, etc. . We can advise you on the best outdoor activities to do around our family campsite between the Cévennes and the Ardèche. We can provide directions and maps. 

Culinary specialties

The region is known for its many exceptional dishes that you will find on market stalls or in small shops in town centres. We advise you to take one of the many wine routes in the region to taste the wines of Ardèche and the Cévennes. Go to the Saint-Ambroix market in August to attend the wine market. The region is also renowned for its olive oil, honey and chestnuts. It is at the Maison de la Figue in Vézénobres that you can learn more about this fruit. 

The caves

Near our campsite between the Cévennes and the Ardèche, you can go on a family expedition to caves retracing our history. We invite you to discover the Grotte de Chauvet, the Grotte de la Cocalière, the Grotte de la Salamandre and the Aven d'Orgnac.

Villages steeped in history

To learn more about the history of the region, we advise you to visit the picturesque villages a few minutes drive from Camping Les Drouilhèdes, in the Cèze Valley. Visit La Roque-sur-Cèze with the Cascade du Sautadet, Barjac, Montclus, Lussan and many others. The city of Nîmes will also help you discover its past steeped in history, stroll through the streets, visit the arenas and the Roman museum.

Uzes

Uzès is a city labeled "City of Art and History". To discover the most beautiful points of interest of Uzès, we advise you to go through the shopping street "Jacques d'Uzès", to go to the Place aux Herbes, to visit the medieval garden and to discover the cathedral Saint- Théodorit with the Fenestrelle tower.

Gard's Bridge

The Pont du Gard is an example of Roman know-how. Go to the Pont du Gard and enjoy a superb walk in the middle of nature, in the heart of the scrubland. Along your way, you will observe the Pont du Gard from different points of view. Get closer to this 1st century masterpiece and you can also swim in the clear waters of the Gardon.

The bamboo garden of Anduze

In the heart of the Cévennes, discover one of the most beautiful gardens in France, the Bamboo Garden of Anduze. On a free or guided tour, you will discover the different spaces of the garden: the labyrinth, the alley of Sequoias, the dragon's valley, the Laotian village, the bamboo forest and the garden of Eugene's basins.

The Camargue

The Camargue is a few kilometers from Les Drouilhèdes campsite. You can get there easily and thus, bask on a fine sandy beach on the shores of the Mediterranean, stroll through the marshes, visit a herd or discover Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Discover this region by riding a magnificent Camargue horse from a herd.
